Create an active medium enabling the Jordanian public to voice their expressions regarding sensitive issues. Overall, FADFED hopes to encourage a culture of free speech and expression, eliminating the idea that sensitive and taboo issues must be kept private and not discussed in public.
Fadfed is a youth-led initiative providing open, low-key and free platforms that encourage citizens to creatively express their opinions about sensitive issues. We place large sheets of blank paper in public places and provide colored pens (coded according to age and gender) for the public to express their thoughts on various topics. FADFED collects and analyzes public opinion through innovative methodology and research, while at the same time collecting demographic data.FADFED data is then organized, analyzed and distributed to decision-makersin the hope that they may use this valuable data on public opinion.
Each FADFED event is strategically organized and implemented in relevant public venues. After setting up boards with blank white paper, people passing by the venue are briefed on the initiative and then invited to express their opinions regarding the given subject. People are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Many choose to write their message in a variety of languages and some even use cartoons or illustrations to express their message. The color coded marker system enables easy analysis of data after the completion of each event.
